Are Larabars vegan? Larabars are the dried fruit and nut bars that are made with 100% real ingredients. They come in a variety of delicious flavors and can be found at almost any grocery store. Since they do not contain any artificial sweeteners or ingredients, they are a great healthy snack that's easy to take on the go. But are they vegan? Read on to find out all the information.

All ingredients, nutritional and allergen information can be found on the Larabar website.

Homemade Larabars
Larabars are a great snack that only contain natural ingredients. They are easy to find at stores but sometimes you want to make your own food. As long as you have a food processor, homemade Larabars are super easy to make. Check out Homemade Larabars by A Mind Full Mom for recipes and step by step directions. What's great about this post is that she gives you recipes for eight varieties including:
- Cashew Cookie
- Peanut Butter Cookie
- Oatmeal Raisin
- Cherry Pie
- Dark Chocolate
- Apple Pie
- Pecan Pie
- PB & J
You can even experiment and make your own flavors. Once you have the basic combination of nuts and dates, it's easy to add other ingredients. We love dried mango in our house so I'm going to experiment and make a tropical mango flavored bar.

FAQ
Are Larabars healthy?
Yes! They are only made with natural ingredients with very minimal added sugar. They also are a good source of protein and fiber. But the best part is that they taste like a dessert! I love them for an afternoon snack.
Is there added sugar in Larabars?
For the majority of flavors, there is no added sugar. However, the chocolate chips they use do contain some sugar. So any flavor that has chocolate chips also has added sugar.
Are Larabars Kosher?
Yes. All of the Larabar products are certified Kosher.
Some flavors of Larabars have chocolate chips in them. Are they dairy free?
Yes. Larabar only uses dairy-free chocolate chips in their products.
Are Larabars raw vegan?
Yes. As Larabars use only vegan ingredients and are not cooked, they are considered raw vegan.
Are Larabars fat free?
No. Larabars do contain healthy fats, mainly from nuts. They also occasionally use small amounts of oil like coconut oil.
Some flavors of Larabars contain cane sugar. Is sugar vegan?
Some vegans worry about white sugar because of the use of bone char. According to Peta.org, "Bone char—often referred to as natural carbon—is widely used by the sugar industry as a decolorizing filter, which allows the sugar cane to achieve its desirable white color." So cane sugar doesn't technically contain any animal products. But, the desire for sugar to have a pure white color makes some companies use animals bones in the production of it. It's up to you whether or not you consume regular sugar.

Summary
Larabars are a great product for vegans and a perfect snack. They are made from real food (a simple blend of fruits, nuts, and a few other ingredients). Eating a Larabar is a great way to get your fiber while also enjoying a treat with a simply sweet taste. There are so many different flavors that can satisfy your dessert cravings.
