    My Vegan Journey

Hi, I'm Jen. I'm a food blogger, recipe creator, mom of 3, and lover of all things vegan!

I have a confession to make.  I used to think being vegan was HARD...maybe even impossible long term. Over the years, I had wanted (and tried) to go vegan or vegetarian countless times.  It seems like every few years I’d decide to go vegetarian, stick to it for several months, and then quit.  A couple times I tried to go vegan before failing miserably.  It just wouldn’t stick.  The vegan foods I’d make just weren’t tasty enough and sometimes they were “weird”.  It all seemed so complicated and overwhelming.

Then, in 2017, something amazing happened.  After watching a few documentaries about veganism, my husband and I decided it was time to do something different for ourselves.  We were both approaching 40 and it was time to make a change.  We began by becoming vegetarian.  Baby steps, I thought.  But unlike my previous attempts, this time it STUCK.  And somehow, it wasn’t even difficult.  Dare I say it was easy!

Two years later I decided it was time to make the final jump to becoming vegan.  I needed it to work for me and not be overly complicated.  Could I make it easy like when I went vegetarian?  Turns out my previous failed attempts taught me a few things about what NOT to do.  This time I was able to focus on the steps needed to make the changes in an easier way.  Deciding to go vegan has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life and it could be for you, too.

Maybe, like me, you’ve tried before and it didn’t work out the way you wanted it to.  Or maybe you’ve been inspired after watching one of the amazing documentaries on veganism.  Or you have a friend, family member, or coworker who won’t stop talking about being vegan. (Guilty!)  Or you’ve tried a few dishes at that new vegan restaurant and your curiosity is piqued.  Whatever the reason, I’m glad you’re here.  I hope I can help make your journey an easier one!
