Healthy Apple Crisp (No-Oil and Vegan)

This Healthy Apple Crisp is oil-free and sweetened with maple syrup instead of brown sugar.  This is a tasty vegan dessert that you can feel good about eating!

Start by thinly slice your apples.  You can use any kind of apples in this crisp or a mixture of 2 or more.

Place the apple slices in a large bowl and add in the lemon juice, maple syrup, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Pour the apple mixture in an even layer in a baking dish.  Cover and bake for 30 minutes.

While the apples are baking, prepare the apple crisp topping. In a bowl, add the oats, whole wheat flour, white flour, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well.

Pour the maple syrup into the oat mixture and stir to combine.

Take the baked tender apples out of the oven. Sprinkle the oat mixture on top.  Place the uncovered baking dish back in the oven for 25 minutes.
