Hi and welcome! I'm Jen, the recipe creator and writer here at Hassle Free Vegan. I've been cooking all my life but didn't find my passion for it until I became vegan and started changing up my favorite recipes to make them vegan-friendly.
Here you’ll find easy vegan recipes using simple ingredients for any meal. Whether you need a recipe for a busy weeknight like a simple vegan creamy pasta or some delicious cookie recipes like my peanut butter chocolate chip, you’ll find it here. And everything is plant-based!
About Me
Honestly, I used to think being vegan was HARD...maybe even impossible long term. Over the years, I had wanted (and tried) to go vegan countless times before failing miserably. The vegan foods I’d try just weren’t tasty enough and it all seemed so complicated and overwhelming.
Then, after watching some documentaries about veganism, I was inspired to try again. And this time it wasn’t even difficult. Dare I say it was easy! My previous failed attempts taught me a few things about what NOT to do.
Deciding to go vegan has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. And now I want to help make it an easier choice for you too.

More About Jen and the Blog
I decided it was time to follow my passion. I knew I needed a change and I wanted to work on something that I was excited about.
Well, I want all my recipes to be "hassle free". I don't want to bother with a lot of extra steps or bizarre ingredients. Just simple recipes that taste delicious! A lot of people think cooking vegan is difficult when really it isn't any harder than "regular" cooking.
Keep it simple! A lot of people try out complicated recipes and then get discouraged.
Don't worry if your dish doesn't work out exactly as you thought it would. It's all about experimenting and finding dishes you like.
When planning a meal, think about what veggies you want to use and then pair with a grain or pasta and maybe some beans or tofu.
Also, meal prep makes your week run smoother. I love making a big batch of beans and one or two kinds of grains and then having them ready to use in different meals like wraps and bowls. Super easy recipes for making them are my Instant Pot Pinto beans and Instant Pot barley.
Lastly, leftovers are your friend! I usually have leftovers for lunch which couldn't be easier
